About Fair Haven:
Fair Haven Foundation was begun by founder Amanda Milner, a cancer survivor herself. As an employee of the IU Hospital system, Amanda saw first-hand the struggle of patients who have been given a life-threatening diagnosis and must leave homes, families and jobs to travel to Indianapolis for treatment. Hotel bills mount quickly, and being able to relieve some of the financial stress for patients is Fair Haven's privilege.
In its first year of existence, Fair Haven provided just under 400 nights of free lodging to patients in need. By the end of 2011, that total number of nights provided skyrocketed to over 5,000! The need, however, continues to grow and it is Fair Haven's vision to grow accordingly... serving more patients and families from across Indiana and throughout the United States.
“It was very comforting to me, knowing my family had some place they could relax and also be close to me that if I needed them, it was within seconds.” – Jim, a patient
